Josée Landry, Challenge participant
On February 20, Josée Landry decided to free herself from “her favourite enemy”: cigarettes. Her 16-year-old daughter convinced her to quit smoking and register for the Quit to Win! Challenge
“My daughter already told me I couldn’t smoke in the house. At first, it irritated me that she told me to go smoke outside, but her arguments were good ones and I respected them: I was not about to poison her and her two brothers with my cigarette smoke. But when she stared telling me I should quit, I told her it was my problem, not hers. She quickly made me realize that if I got sick or died from smoking, it would no longer only be “my” problem!”
Thanks to the insistence of her teenage daughter, this single mom was able to see that the love her children had for her was the same love she had for them. In the end, that’s what motivated her to live smoke-free for a long, long time!
